Each Sunday I’ll post my favourite recipe of the week. Tomorrow, a plum tart with my Grandparent’s seal of approval (not to be missed!)
Sorry guys, I have been around much of late.
I’ve been doing a pretty good job of pretending to be a grown up actually; working hard, calling meetings, playing with toys- the usual.
I’ve had some stuff published too which is rather exciting. Check it out here:
My name also cropped up in The Independent yesterday.
So you see, I’ve been a little busy.
I’m attempting to ease heartache by making an assortment of chocolate truffles. Chocolate makes everything better, right? Watching The Edge of Love, however, was not one of my better ideas but it’s such a good film about the strength and poignancy of female friendship which is really something I value in my own life. Anyway, back to those truffles…photos and recipes to come : )
Had such a lazy Sunday baking these amazing cookies (recipe here), lounging around the house, catching up with a long-lost Parisian over face time!
Sometimes I have to force myself to be “still” and fight the urge to be outside exploring when I should be resting and relaxing, but sometimes my body says ‘enough’ and I respectfully obey with a duvet day. Sometimes you just gotta listen.
Wanted: a bit obsessed with all things white at the moment probably because this sudden (and much appreciated) bout of hot weather has me thinking that I’m in the South of France. Wouldn’t mind a Hervé Leger swimsuit and the body to match. Oh, and if we could throw the South of France into the fantasy too that’d be grand. Thanks.
Check out my amazing dinner at The Boathouse, Putney. Love this place!
Never one to pass up an opportunity, I jumped at the chance of taking a Bobbi Brown free make-up tutorial at Selfridges on Oxford Street. I opted for a smokey eye because I’d never have the confidence to do something as crazy as this myself for fear of looking overdone. Loved the result, even if I did look a little silly taking the tube home in broad daylight. The girl was really kind and helpful, here’s what she used:
- Eye Brightener in Light Bisque (This made all the difference!)
- Lip Gloss in Pink Sugar
- Eye Shadow in Silver Moon (definitely going to be investing in this)
- Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
- Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara
If you’re around in London, I’d recommend popping by. They’re offering all kind of make-up sessions, book-in early to avoid disappointment!
Sloane Square is one of those very pretty parts of London where people like to go and pretend they have loads of money. I have to admit the cafes and restaurants in the area are strikingly elegant. Tucked away behind the designer shops and streams of well dressed tourists, towards Pimlico, there’s this great place called Daylesford. If The White Company did restaurants, this is what they would look like; very white, very clean, very crisp. Daylesford is the home of yummy mummies and elegant middle-aged couples who sit together reading the newspaper. How very civilised. The food is jolly good, especially my favourite eggs Benedict and the prices aren’t too bad at all, considering the crowd and location…or maybe I’m just becoming a bit too used to London prices? Either way, this one gets a well-deserved 6/10 from me.
