Made with love

Was is it about “home-made” that is so irresistable?

dadaaaaa

OH LA LA.

Right folks, I decided it was about time I turned my little blogging fingers to something new. That’s why I’m presenting…  a brand spanking food-and-thoughts blog, where I’ll be documenting my baking, roasting, garnishing and other endless escapades and sharing them with you, my faithful reader(s). Oh yes, it’s exciting, isn’t it.

So here’s the plan. Every Sunday I’ll be cooking up a storm, and by storm I mean the whole lot- starter, main and dessert (to be sampled by my nearest and dearest, the lucky lot), which I’ll then post on here, complete with recipes and feedback from the aforementioned nearest and dearest, noted, I might add, for their honesty.

So why, you may ask, have I set myself this challenge when really I should spend my Sundays reading so-and-so’s critical study of Shakespearian tragedy. Well, the answer is really rather simple and it goes like this 1) I am obsessed with food 2) I believe Sundays should be dedicated to spending good quality time with those we love, and nothing says I love you quite like a big chocolate cake, or a twice-baked soufflé or yummy chicken pie or…whatever, you get the gist.

Time to dig into my Mum’s extensive collection of recipe books, think I’ll start with something “à la rose” because it sounds pretty and reminds me of Paris. See you next Sunday!

Have a good week y’all.

Love,

Ally

i’m smitten!

No trip to Paris is ever complete without the following: sourcing some delectable ingredients from le Bon Marché (Angelina’s chestnut creme and Godiva hazelnut/chocolate spread, my faves), tasting something creamy and rose infused from Ladurée (St Honoré à la Rose-Framboise), laughing with my favourite people (vous savez qui vous êtes!), ending up somewhere random and arty at 4am.

 Yup, that’s my city.

Nothing like turning my hand to a bit of cooking after a long day of reading Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra! The vegetable pie topped off a weekend of culinary treats: a three cheese risotto, the most amazingggggggly decadent chocolate brownies (as my housemates will testify), asparagus swirls, Ellie’s stuffed butternut squash and even a spur of the moment, vodka and lychee concoction for our friday night antics. My days may be filled with books, but my plate is anything but boring : )

The thing is…

One has to learn to love one’s gums in life.

And the beauty of 100s of little yellow M&Ms.
Scattered everywhere!
